Get Involved

The Jefferson Bar Association (JBA) is an organization of practicing attorneys and judges in Jefferson Parish. Our organization dates back to 1932.


We have regular luncheon meetings on both the Eastbank and Westbank of Jefferson Parish. These meetings provide members with the opportunity to meet with judges from all of the Jefferson Parish Courts in an informal setting, often having CLE credit. The JBA sponsors an annual CLE event in Spring - - the CLE By the Sea - - where the bar and the bench have an opportunity to learn the law together in a relaxed environment. That event includes a President's Reception and like functions. The CLE by the Sea also affords exhibitors an opportunity to provide JBA members services helpful to their practices.

In addition to the CLE opportunities, the JBA hosts numerous other events throughout the year, including our annual Christmas Party, and semi-regular events such as the occasional golf tournament, professional sporting event group event, and trips to the Angola Rodeo.

We have a very active Young Lawyers Division (YLD), which has regular activities throughout the year such as its Coffee with the Court, Wind Down Wednesday. The YLD’s annual activities include a Crawfish Boil, and a three-hour Fall CLE which covers ethics, professionalism, and law practice management.

Jefferson Bar Association

The Jefferson Bar Association (“JBA”) assists and serves its members in the practice of law by promoting the administration of justice, upholding the honor of the Courts and the legal profession, promoting professional competency of attorneys through continuing legal education, increasing public understanding of and respect for the law, and encouraging collegiality among its members. To do so, the JBA sponsors continuing education (such as the annual CLE By the Sea Program), and hosts annual events such as the Installation Dinner and the Christmas Party. Our Young Lawyers Division (“YLD”) organizes its own CLE programming and hosts socials such as Wine Down Wednesday and the Annual Crawfish Boil. Please join us in our endeavors.
